COLD CHAMBER / MT500

MT500 Die Casting Machine

The MT500 is a cold chamber machine for aluminum, magnesium and copper alloys. An effective comparison begins with its mounting area, tooling opening and injection requirement as separate subjects. Bring those subjects together through the actual mould assembly and the movement of the casting after ejection.

Start from the die assembly revision

The MT500 has an 800x800 mm tie bar opening and 1220x1220 mm platen. Put the drawing revision beside the dimensions being compared so the machine review follows the intended tool design. Changes to slides, mounting plates or cooling connections can alter fit without changing the finished component. The mould height range is 400-950 mm. Check the installed stack against that range, including adapters and the ejector housing where applicable. Mark permanent projections and identify which connections are attached after loading. This separates the installation path from the production position and helps explain the access required for both. Photographs of an existing tool can supplement the dimensioned assembly, but they do not replace a clear record of mounting faces and overall dimensions.

Connect metal quantity with the selected configuration

MT500 aluminum injection weight is 6.0-12.0 KG, with an 80-110 mm injection plunger diameter range. Build a complete metal estimate that includes the feed system, rather than equating the upper injection weight with an acceptable finished casting. State the alloy and explain whether the runner arrangement is established or still being developed. Injection force is listed at 700 KN and injection stroke at 750 mm. These fields should be discussed together with the proposed plunger and tool arrangement. Identify long paths through the cavity, thick junctions and fine features that make the filling task distinctive. If more than one casting is planned for the machine, provide a separate shot and tooling description for each so different requirements do not become an ambiguous combined brief.

Review the space needed after the die opens

MT500 clamping stroke is 750 mm and its ejection stroke is 180 mm. A removal review should show the point where the casting is free of the tooling and the direction in which it travels next. Include gates and runners that remain attached at extraction. They may affect grip positions or clearance more than the outline of the finished part suggests. Check the proposed handling device against the open die, fittings and side actions. The preparation task also matters: a sprayer must approach the required surfaces after the casting has left. Sketching the sequence can help define where each device waits while another operates. Share these intentions with the equipment enquiry rather than assuming auxiliary placement can be resolved after machine selection.

Trace utilities and service routes around the cell

The MT500 machine measures 9.5x2.6x3.4 m and lists 45 KW motor power. Use these values in the machine portion of the installation review, then add the separate demands of selected auxiliaries. A furnace location affects ladling access, while a mould temperature controller needs practical routing to the tool. Reserve room to reach those connections and to service the machine without moving unrelated equipment unnecessarily. Show where castings will cool, be conveyed or move toward trimming. If the project occupies an existing production area, indicate columns, access restrictions and equipment that cannot move. An MT500 enquiry should include the component, alloy, mould assembly and whole shot requirement. That package supports a configuration discussion grounded in the process and the available operating area. For projects with cosmetic or mating surfaces, identify those areas on the drawing. Their role in the finished assembly provides context for discussions of gate location and handling, while keeping the enquiry focused on concrete component requirements instead of broad quality adjectives.
