COLD CHAMBER / MT280

MT280 Die Casting Machine

MT280 selection starts with how a die occupies the clamping space, then follows the metal and casting through the cell. Use this cold chamber model for an enquiry around aluminum, magnesium or copper alloys, supported by the part drawing, mould assembly and intended handling sequence.

Look beyond the square opening

The 560x560 mm tie bar spacing of MT280 is an installation boundary, while the 900x900 mm platen gives the mounting face dimensions. A mould can interact differently with each. Check the tool body, side actions and mounting arrangement separately rather than reducing the entire assembly to a single width. The specified mould height range is 300-700 mm. Establish the closed stack from the stationary mounting face to the moving mounting face, with adapters and ejection hardware accounted for. Cooling fittings may need a different access route from the tool itself. Mark those details on the drawing so the installation discussion includes connections and servicing. This approach is especially useful for existing tooling, where permanent projections may already constrain how the die can be loaded.

Connect the proposed plunger with the casting layout

For MT280, the injection plunger diameter range is 60-90 mm and the aluminum injection weight range is 2.8-5.6 KG. Interpret that weight alongside the complete shot requirement rather than as a finished part rating. Gating, overflow and biscuit allowances belong in the metal estimate. Describe the alloy grade so a nominal aluminum reference is not carried into another material without review. The injection force is 450 KN and injection stroke is 500 mm. The tool drawing should explain what those injection functions need to accomplish: where metal enters, how cavities are arranged and which features are difficult to reach during filling. A casting with the same net mass can have a very different feed system, making the geometry an essential part of the conversation.

Reserve room for the work between shots

MT280 clamping stroke is 500 mm, with a 130 mm ejection stroke. Opening the tool is only part of the access problem. The released casting, its runner and the handling device must all move through the opening without an interference. Establish the release orientation before deciding where an extractor should stand. Spraying brings another movement into the same area and may require access to surfaces that the extractor does not approach. Show the planned order of these tasks on a simple sequence drawing. If auxiliaries already exist, include their reach and mounting position rather than describing them only by equipment type. The resulting layout can expose conflicts while the machine and peripheral choices are still being discussed.

Specify the space around metal transfer

The MT280 machine outline is listed as 7.0x2.1x2.9 m. Add the furnace and ladling route to that outline early, leaving a defined operating zone and a path for servicing the equipment. An incoming metal path should be understood alongside the outgoing casting path. Conveyors, trimming equipment and workpiece collection can affect where people need to stand, even if they are not attached directly to the machine. The listed motor power is 30 KW; identify separate auxiliary utility needs when preparing the site schedule. To request an MT280 configuration discussion, share the component and mould drawings, estimated full shot and available floor area. Include the project location and explain which parts of the proposed cell will be new and which equipment you intend to retain. Describe how the production team intends to inspect the first castings and where they will place them during that activity. The required access belongs in the workspace discussion, especially when the surrounding auxiliaries occupy much of the machine side area.
