COLD CHAMBER / MT3500

MT3500 Die Casting Machine

The MT3500 brings substantial tooling and installation dimensions into an MT cold chamber enquiry. For aluminum, magnesium and copper alloy projects, review the actual mould assembly and feed system before arranging the cell. The machine, metal transfer equipment and casting discharge route should be considered as a connected production task.

Start with a tool loading and mounting study

MT3500 tie bar spacing is 1750x1750 mm, and its platen is 2700x2700 mm. Lay the complete die assembly against those boundaries, including slides, fittings and mounting details. Identify the loading direction and the lifting approach because a tool that fits in its operating position still needs an installation path. The mould height range is 800-1700 mm. Compare the full closed stack with this window, including retained plates and adapters. Show the ejection connection and cooling interfaces in the installed arrangement. Tool changes require access to fastenings even after the surrounding equipment is in place. If an existing die will be used, provide its current mounting drawings and explain any interface changes anticipated for the proposed machine. These details make compatibility a practical review rather than a nominal size comparison.

Describe the injection task with a complete metal estimate

MT3500 lists a 150-190 mm injection plunger diameter range and 40-80 KG aluminum injection weight. Account for all metal in the shot, including the component, runners, biscuit and overflow arrangement. The final part mass does not capture that complete requirement. State the alloy and provide the gate concept, keeping an aluminum reference associated with its named material. Injection force is 2400 KN with a 1400 mm injection stroke. Consider those fields alongside the intended plunger and tooling arrangement. Important drawing details include long filling routes, rib geometry and changes in section. If several tools are involved, separate their shot estimates and die envelopes. This avoids turning distinct casting requirements into an averaged brief that is difficult to assess against a specific machine configuration.

Include the casting assembly in the clearance drawing

MT3500 clamping stroke is 1500 mm, and ejection stroke is 300 mm. Follow the part from the open die through release and withdrawal, using the geometry that actually leaves the machine. Runners and gates should remain in the study if they are still attached during extraction. Add the gripper and its movement envelope, checking clearance to slide mechanisms and utility connections. Then examine access for die preparation as its own task. A sprayer may approach different surfaces and require a different working position from the extractor. Show the intended sequence and where each device waits. The casting discharge point should also be defined so the handling system connects to conveying, cooling or trimming without leaving the next operation unresolved in the layout.

Use the machine dimensions in a wider installation plan

The MT3500 machine dimensions are 17.5x4.6x5.0 m and its listed weight is 260000 KG. Bring those values to the site team alongside the building access plan and equipment placement drawing. The working area extends beyond the main body to include furnace placement, ladling movement, operating positions and maintenance access. Mark utility routes and the destination of castings after removal. The machine motor power is 185 KW; separately chosen auxiliaries require additional consideration in the utility schedule. An MT3500 enquiry should include the casting revision, material, complete mould drawing and whole shot requirement. Provide the project location and identify retained machinery or fixed structures. Those inputs allow the quotation discussion to address tooling, injection and the surrounding production arrangement on the same basis. Show the intended location for incoming and outgoing tools during a changeover. Even when that area lies outside the machine footprint, its relationship with lifting access and surrounding equipment can be important to how the production area is organized.
